IMPORTANT NOTICES:

Please reload this page at the start of every shift to ensure you are viewing the most up-to-date notices.

There may not be enough green & red bags to fill a full day of haybags. Use blue bags in place of the missing red bags, and purple in place of missing green bags, and pile them in the same area in the stall.

Please continue to scoop all hay on the fence lines & outdoor stall mats every morning. The increased shift pay is reflective of the work required to do this completely, as it is not negotiable. We have several horses with severe fly sensitivities, and need to do everything possible to reduce the number of flies. Please see this article if you have any questions regarding the importance of this: Managing Flies Associated with Livestock

The Feeding Chart, and Barn Schedule are together in one app. A few notes about the new app:

I know the format is different, but this format allows us to track feeding changes, and easily look back and see when & why changes were made. I’m confident we will get used to it… eventually.

NOTE: Some horses now get three bags in a feeding. Please be aware of the third hay bag column.

You do not need to download anything- if you say no, it will open in the browser just the same. You can adjust the column widths, and on my phone at least, they do tend to stay resized when I reopen it.

It is no longer raining, so Flynn does not need a stall bucket.

PLEASE DUMP POOP OVER THE EDGE OF THE POOP PILE, NOT ON THE WALK WAY TO THE EDGE.

  • Please feed on stall mats whenever possible, and do NOT feed in areas that are still deep mud or actively being cleaned. Rein + Denali + Mae have spots on their fence line that have been cleared; please use them.

    Morning Shift Cleaning Requirements:

    • Kronk: Scoop all mud and hay off stall mats every morning

    • Reno: Scoop all ground hay every morning — no exceptions

    • Rein / Mae / Denali: Scoop along the fence line where they were fed the day before. They frequently manure in ground hay — please double-check and ensure you got it all.

    • No other horses typically have an abundance of ground hay that requires scooping- if they do, please clean it, and let Maddie or Kirsten know.

Tessa: 1 pump of Gut-X with lunch supplements

Do not change or add stall bedding

When changing waters make every effort to dump the water out of the paddock spaces.

Morning Checklist

(This does not submit anywhere, it is just for your use, it does not save & will clear itself when refreshed)

  • Hang hay bags where there are stall mats, or where the ground along the fence is dry and firm
  • Most muddy spots are marked “NO HAYBAGS”, but if a spot looks soft, muddy, or has deep hoof prints that would make manure difficult to scoop there, do not hang hay there.
  • All horse spaces include paddocks, stalls, runs, the arena, and the courtyard.
  • No exceptions: fence lines and stall mats must be cleared of hay every morning
  • If you are doing both morning + evening shift and it is pouring rain, it is okay to wait until the rain is stopping, but it must be cleaned at least once daily.
  • Please do NOT dump manure on the “ramps” of the manure pile. Always dump OVER the edge, extending the manure pile outward. If you are unable to dump fully over the edge, please use a manure fork to push it over—do not leave it piled on the ramp.
  • If haybags are extremely wet, hang on hooks in the barn aisle to dry. Please do not bring dripping wet bags up to the loft.
  • Make sure mash bucket lids are on securely

  • Prepare all haybags required for the following day.
  • Please prepare one extra green, and one extra red bag. This ensures there is always an extra available if needed.
  • Make sure mash bucket lids are on securely

Request Coverage for a Shift

We have moved this process to the same application the feeding charts are now accessed on.

It is relatively self explanatory, but instructions for submitting request for coverage for a shift, and claiming an available shift are here.
